About the program:
Omics Logic Genomics for Biomedical Drug Discovery is an online bioinformatics training program that provides an in-depth review of concepts and analytical tools used to study genomic variation.
The sessions offer insights into Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data for whole-genome and exome sequencing. Methods covered include processing and quality control, mapping, as well as statistical analysis of germline and somatic mutation variants, visualization methods, and biological interpretation.
After the basic training, participants will have the opportunity to apply their skills to challenges presented in curated datasets.
The program includes:
- Introduction to sequence analysis in R and Python
- Processing and Analysis of Genomic Data (alignment, characterization of mutations, mutation frequency, haplotypes, and evolution)
- Relationship between Sequence, Structure, and Function -Mapping mutations to known 3D structures and learning about the impact of variants on protein structure, interaction, and phenotype
