Job Title: Bioinformatics Training Program Coordinator (USA)

Roles and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a program coordinator for our US training programs in collaboration with NAIPI (naipi.org). The program coordinator has to be an excellent verbal and written communicator, passionate about bioinformatics and data science for biomedical research (non-biomedical areas of expertise will also be considered).

In this position, you would be working closely with the curriculum development and training team at Pine Biotech and assist them with training program curriculum, student engagement, new course content, etc.

On the technical aspect, you should be able to perform bioinformatics analysis of multi-omics data that would address meaningful research problems.

Advanced analysis methods and results have to be transformed into a biologically meaningful story. You would be developing a new curriculum and content for our platforms that reflect advances in the field of bioinformatics and current research needs of clients as well as interacting with and educating students. 

  • Plan and coordinate programs with academic and industry partners
  • Oversee research and analysis capabilities
  • Plan and refine OmicsLogic Programs and specializations (learn.omicslogic.com)
  • Interact with faculty across 23 states and Puerto Rico to develop joint training
  • Attend training and Q&A sessions to address technical challenges

Requirements:

    • Good knowledge of basic statistics and coding (R and/or Python)
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Ph.D. in one of the following: Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, or Computational Biology, preferably with knowledge of NGS data types and analysis methods.
    • Good at explaining and demystifying complicated topics
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and experience with public speaking
    • A passion for education, bioinformatics, data science and biology
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Self-starter and able to work without supervision
