Pine Biotech is excited to announce several new collaborations that will further its mission to make bioinformatics accessible for researcher and students of all backgrounds by expanding our bioinformatics educational programs. This summer, we are expanding our OmicsLogic program and making it available in universities across India. The expansion is being led by a new team that will be working with faculty and university administration on plans to pilot the program and roll it out to students and faculty in life sciences.
Amity University, Kolkata:
June, 2019 – Amity University in Kolkata signed a memorandum of understanding with Pine Biotech to start a 3-month pilot program, titled “Introduction to Bioinformatics”. The program is gaining support from a number of faculty that previously participated in the online training programs conducted in 2019. Read more about the program here. Previously, Pine Biotech has worked with Amity University, Jaipur and is now gearing up to continue the expanded program in both campuses. The program will be led by our newly established team based in India.
Sister Nivedita University:
On the 19th of July, 2019, Kolkata witnessed a unique gathering of industry and academia giants at Sister Nivedita University, pioneered by Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Co-founder & Managing Director of Techno India Group and Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University who had organized “Employability Enhancement through Industrial Alliance Program” in order to reduce the gap between industry and academia and to improve the employability of college and university students. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) along with University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has integrated skill-based training in the curriculum of Universities.
The event featured signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) between Sister Nivedita University and various industry and academia organizations, including Pine Biotech. “Curating industry ready professional and thought leaders is a shared value of SNU. Towards this end, we are focused on achieving industry-academia interface. The synergy achieved through this interface results in a win-win situation for both industry and academia.
