About Pine Biotech

Pine Biotech is a New Orleans based startup which delivers solutions to ease multi-omics analysis and integration with the use of T-BioInfo, an analysis platform allowing industries to seize the challenge and the promise of the future.

Pine Biotech was Incorporated in September 2014, and moved into the New Orleans Bioinnovation Center in 2016. Pine Biotech is commercializing a machine learning biomedical data analysis platform, T-BioInfo, in collaboration with the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center and the University of Haifa. The platform is designed to serve unmet needs in clinical studies, academic research and education. This solution is different than other biomedical analysis software currently available. The platform enables researchers to conduct comprehensive analysis of large data using an intuitive interface. Molecular data reveals important mechanisms of actions that are best studied as a system, making this integrative approach critical for understanding and treating disease. The machine learning platform utilizes algorithms developed over years of research and trained in many academic projects.

Multi-Omics Analysis

Behind every new treatment, solution, and innovation is a discovery. In our age of technology, big data is not just a resource; it is a new frontier in understanding molecular and cellular mechanisms, with enormous potential to enhance quality of life. From disease treatment to enhanced nutrition from crops, multi-omics analysis can accelerate any area of discovery in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or clinical/pre-clinical research.
We are an SaaS informatics platform for commercial research scientists and biomedical researchers who need to manage large volumes of different types of data. We simplify bioinformatics to enable discovery of molecules, vaccines, and new cellular pathways.

Our goal is to bring the cutting-edge capabilities of big omics data analysis and integration into the hands of biologists and medical researchers by providing a simple and intuitive interface, innovative algorithms, integration, and visualization.

The Challenge

mutationfitnessheaderBig data analysis opens up new opportunities for the worlds of biomedical, biotech, and agricultural research, but working with big data can be as frustrating as it is rewarding. To help you realize the potential of this remarkable resource, our company delivers solutions to ease and streamline multi-omics analysis and integration.
From basic biology research to pharmaceutical development and precision medicine, genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic and other “omics” data are increasingly being used for research, diagnosis, and treatment development. As the technology used to generate ‘omics data progresses, costs are decreasing, making ‘omics analysis increasingly feasible for applications from exploratory research to precision diagnosis. The discoveries already made in the field—mainly stemming from research labs– are just the start of a big data revolution. The challenge is to enable a wider range of researchers and clinicians to take advantage of these new resources. With our user-friendly platform, we envision on the horizon a “smartphone”-like interface in the hands of practical medical workers and non-bioinformatician biologists, allowing them to take advantage of the power of big data.

Our Solution

tbio-web-logo alt=

Our solution is a set of online tools covering a wide range of -omics data types that are capable of integrating analyses for different data types and are accessible via a simple user interface. The T-BioInfo platform combines analysis of heterogeneous data types and machine learning approaches, as well as integration and modeling. The simple interface and intuitive options for creating complex algorithmic pipelines also make this platform useful for bioinformatics education. Importantly, we provide the means for this set of tools to be run remotely, freeing users from the constraints of limited computational resources.”

Research

Our product has numerous applications in the field of research, assisting researchers with analyzing and visualization diverse sets of biological data.

Education

Pine Biotech is developing a set of online educational courses designed to teach professionals and students the basics of bioinformatics, and how to use the T-BioInfo platform’s features.

Clinical

We recognize the opportunity to facilitate clinical research and development of new drugs and therapies for cancer, genetic disease, and DNA and RNA viruses.

T-BioInfo

T-BioInfo, developed by the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center at the University of Haifa has a exclusive commercialization license with Pine Biotech. T-BioInfo is a Discovery and Decision-making platform that leverages big data analysis algorithms to provide deeper insight into cellular regulation that allows for development of biomarker diagnostics, identification of small molecule candidates for drug development, and strategic insight into overcoming pressing environmental challenges. The T-BioInfo platform combines proprietary algorithms and publicly available methods while hiding the complexity of code-line interface with an intuitive visual interface that is consistent across genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and structural biology data analysis pipelines. This approach has been developed as a result of collaborations with leading teams in many scientific projects in virology, cancer, genetic diseases and agriculture.
